David Freeman

Bio

David C. Freeman is a seasoned computer professional with an extensive career spanning over three decades in the computer industry. His journey began as an Engineering Intern Assistant at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, where he played a crucial role in assembling computer systems for processing experiment collision events. His expertise and passion for technology led him to NEC Technologies, where he excelled as an Application Support Engineer, supporting the world’s first laptop computers.

Freeman's career trajectory continued upward as he joined Argonne National Laboratory, contributing significantly to the Advanced Photon Source project as a Systems Administrator. His responsibilities included supervising linear accelerator operations personnel and maintaining computer and network hardware. Following his tenure at Argonne, Freeman ventured into the academic realm, imparting knowledge as an Adjunct Faculty member at Broward College, where he taught computer science courses.

The realm of environmental technologies beckoned, and Freeman answered by joining Florida International University as a Project Engineer. Here, he researched, designed, integrated, and managed hardware/software solutions in C/C++, supervising graduate students in project research. His career further diversified as he explored roles in multimedia development, software engineering, and IT management across various organizations, including The Children’s Trust, where he was honored as the Employee of the Year in 2005.

Currently, Freeman serves as the Director of Information Technology and Data Management Services for a growing non-profit organization in Miami-Dade, leveraging his vast experience in software development, support, integration, and his excellent communication skills to drive technological advancements and support research data management for federal, state, and county-based projects.

Freeman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is passionate about martial arts, culinary arts, AI, and the exploration of virtual and augmented reality technologies.
